Trainual Elevates Training with Intuitive Flowcharts

I love how easy Trainual is to use, and I really love the flowchart feature—it's the best out there in my opinion. The private document management is really nice because it allows me to work on drafts for upcoming releases without doing everything the day of. I also keep my work private until I'm ready to release it to my team. Dislikes: I don't really like your search. I think the search oftentimes doesn't pick up literally the documents that have the exact same words in them. It has gotten better in the last couple months. Also, I don't personally use the AI tool. I'm gonna be honest.

Streamlined Training with Room for Language Support

I really like that Trainual is easy to use and has a fun, interactive space. After surveying my team, they mentioned enjoying the interactive features like gifs and quizzes. They found these elements engaging and fun. It is a really useful tool for the team to be able to brush up on their knowledge about our systems and products, all in one central location. Dislikes: I'm generally struggling to get the kitchen on board with using Trainual. The bar and the front of house are not a problem, but the kitchen has been tough to engage. Another issue is that we're based in Spain.

Personalized Training Access with Easy On-Demand Refreshers

I like that I can personalize which employees have access to specific trainings, so not everyone has to complete the same ones. I also appreciate being able to go back and access past trainings whenever I want, which makes it easy to refresh my memory on the information. Dislikes: It isn’t always formatted well for use on my personal devices. Sometimes I’m away from my desk and want to finish a training on my phone, but the sizing and layout don’t always adjust properly. As a result, I sometimes can’t click the “next” button because it ends up out of frame.

Trainual Keeps Training Organized and Makes Onboarding Effortless

What I like most about Trainual is that it keeps all of our office processes, training materials, and SOPs in one well-organized place. It has made onboarding new employees much easier, and it helps ensure everyone is trained consistently. The progress tracking and quizzes also give us confidence that staff truly understand our workflows and expectations. Dislikes: The initial setup takes a lot of time, but once everything is built out, it's been well worth it for our team.

Human Services Compliance and Training Review

I love that you can use any contect to create your trainings - such as youtube, other videos and text - but it all looks the same. I also LOVE the quiz feature. Dislikes: I would love more ways to download and show info on the completion of training for certain users - we are in a very strict compliance field with DDS and are not able to show completion by subject in a clean way. More report filters and formats.

The best platform for onboarding sessions

The product is straightforward to use and has a great UI design. It helps us do our onboarding process much faster than we used to have them. Apart from all the help we get with our onboarding process, one thing that I love about Trainual is their newsletter. I'm always excited to read the next one and be inspired by what they bring to us. We have even implemented some processes based on what they recommended in these newsletters or got inspired from their own documentation to create some sections of our own. Thanks a lot, Trainual!

Help New Hires get up to Speed!

I like that its has a clean, intuitive interface, both for creators and learners. You can structure content quickly using templates and modules without tech expertise. Cons: Trainual is fantastic for processes, but it’s not built to be a full knowledge base like Confluence or SharePoint.

Training is now a super organized workflow

Training new employees has become a moving workflow with Trainual. Everything is so organized and it helps keep our employees on track. Cons: Any little change to any page sets back our 100% completion. Some changes do not require users to do the whole module again.

Loving Trainual

Trainual has impacted us greatly in the time we spend with our new hires. In the past, we would physically be in the same room for 8 hours with the person before they could get to work! Sometimes 2 people which meant 16 hours of 2 people time to get 1 person, possibly to understand! Well, those days are gone. 45 minutes in person! Everything else is completed via Trainual.

Trainual Transformed Our Team Training

There are five things I like most about Trainual. Centralized knowledge hub, structured onboarding, role-based assignments, searchable & easy to update, and accountability & tracking. Cons: The least things I like about Trainual are: search limitations, quiz functionality is basic, and sometimes it is hard to cross-reference between different topics and processes.

Easy and Efficient Training Tool

Trainual has helped keep our training program consistent across multiple locations and made SOPs easily accessible for everyone. Cons: I wish that training paths were part of the basic plan. It would also be nice if there was a video tool that didn't allow employees to skip or fastforward through each video.

I have nothing but good things to say about Trainual. It's helped streamline all of our processes and policies. This app is a game changer! We have a number of teams that are in the field and don’t have access to a desktop computer. This app has allowed us to get our policies and procedures in the hands of all of our teams. I can look up any procedure in a matter of seconds! Trainual is fantastic! A great central location for all your company information and truly the way to get everyone on the same page. Great for centralizing remote locations or standardizing multiple location facilities. Also super easy to use and interact with.

A Must for a smaller organization

Being able to store all of our material within one place is what is great about Trainual. Using SharePoint is good but it has to be done in file formats and that I dont want. Its very easy for files to be lost or you forget the name. This one allows a couple of admins and the rest view users only.

Best tool for documenting processes (10/10)

We are using Trainual to document all possible processes to audit them and ensure they're as effective as possible. We are also using it to train new employees. We really like the combination of the different media forms available for teaching - from plain text, audio, and video. The tests are also very helpful.

It's extremely user friendly, editing is very simple. The AI assistant is great for tweaking content and answering simple questions. Dislikes: Maybe more layout options or the ability to edit the layout of documents.

Fast, Reliable, and Intuitive—Trainual Templates and AI Search Make Policy Building Easy

The product is easy to use in that creating a policies or process doesn’t take long and is somewhat intuitive. I like the templates in Trainual to get you started with ideas of how to lay out policies and procedures. The only integrations we use are Google and Gusto. We don’t use SLACK so I don’t get the benefit of that integration. Trainual’s speed and reliability are great. Dislikes: It’s very overwhelming when you have a lot of subjects. If you don’t start your Trainual organization correct from the start with groups, it’s difficult to sort through all of the subjects.

The ease of use and the pre built templates. It is quick to setup, very intuitive and provides templates to fill the holes in your organizational structure. Dislikes: The base pricing model is $500/month for 1-50 employees. At 10 employees it simply is not worth the money. If we had 30-50 it would be a different story but it is not justifiable as a startup. Product: 8.5/10 Price: 3.

A training platform that people actually want to use.

It's a system that is easy to use and configure. It has robust handling of whatever media formats you want to throw at. Staff enjoy the UI and more intuitive navigation experience. It's a win for our company overall. Cons: No API to pull training metrics. We live in the age of AI and vibe-coding. Any reasonably tech savvy person has workflows and MCP servers that work with API's - and it is a sore point that Trainual does not yet have this.

Intuitive UI for Videos and Screenshots with Smooth Performance

The UI is very intuitive and works very well in integrating videos, screenshots, and formatting. I rarely run into issues with loading times and find that the training courses can store a lot of information. Dislikes: Sometimes, the home page is difficult to navigate to find the courses that I need, so a redesign on the search and organization of those would be helpful.

Trainual has managed to become a core asset for our company. Before implementation, I couldn't even imagine accomplishing so much with such a simple tool. The whole team is very satisfied with the platform. It's our go-to tool as it has all our important info gathered in one place. I'm very happy that we can capture and share all our institutional knowledge with every new hire. Dislikes: Not exactly cons, but here it goes... I have some suggestions that will help the platform's usability: 1) the directory needs to be more accessible, so new hires will be able to use their smartphones before coming to our workplace. That said the mobile app needs improvement.

All-In-One Platform with Creative Content Capabilities

I like having everything in one place on Trainual. The different preset options it provides to employees for creating their own content are great, and I enjoy a lot of the creative aspects. These features seem to enhance the standard material provided and make it more enjoyable. Dislikes: The site navigation at times gets a bit sticky. When you're going through the different material, you could be viewing a subject and then you'll want to go back, and it'll jump you all the way back to the home page.

Trainual for the Long Haul

Its ease of use & their onboarding was very helpful getting us up and running. Our employees talk about the ease of using the platform. Cons: They are no longer able to partner with Loom to make easy videos. With Loom the videos just integrated with the trainings we created.

Great Resource for Training

Trainual's ease of searching and editing as an administrator is one of my favorite features. To be able to search for any subject, topic, test, etc. and find all associated trainings and topics with that field is amazing. This is a time saver when trying to help my team. Cons: In some instances, if a member does not have the proper access, they are unable to see all available topics when they search. It takes an administrator to search and assign the topic or show the team member the material.It can be time consuming to get everything in to Trainual, at first.

This has allowed for our practice to dramatically improve our onboarding, training, and policy/procedure update management processes. Cons: The search feature is often more frustrating than helpful. It often results in time intensive continue searching through the list of results without necessarily producing the Trainual module intended.

This software has given us a way to offer consistent training to our multiple stores. Being a seasonal company, we needed to create consistency and train numerous new hires and managers across our stores. Dislikes: One main downside is that building out all the training takes a lot of time. However, it has helped our company improve its training strategy and enhance the way we onboard and develop our employees.

Great platform for nonprofits and businesses alike.

We like the fact that we can keep all of our training, handbooks, and processes in one place for the whole team to train on and then references later. We can also update in real-time. Cons: There are some pieces that aren’t customizable that I would love to change. We have teams that have more robust training that need their steps broken down a bit more and it can get cumbersome with the current layout.

Trainual is a fantastic tool that allows us to standardize our procedures and not rely on generational teaching among our staff. I do see how it could be expensive for a new small business to start using the tool because the new prices are very expensive, but as stated, we've been grandfathered in.

They have improved the main dashboard page when first logging it making it more fun and able to see leaderboards. Clearly see what % everyone in the workplace is at. A good visualization and consolidation of data.

Easy Navigation, Needs Better Integration

I enjoy how easy it is to navigate and how easy it is to produce trainings and documents with Trainual. It's also easier to navigate and offers a continuity solution in times of outages with Microsoft. Dislikes: I find the lack of API capabilities for connecting to project management workflows problematic.

Good but only for business with high staff turn over or large companies.

It's ok, basically a SOP with a good search function, you can probably get the same effect with other free softwares. The cost is extremely expensive for small businesses, so unless you have high staff turn over... It's not worth it. Cons: Cost, inability to export out in a good format or easily export the documents out, they used to allow you to do editing of photos inside the app, like putting arrows and boxes around important areas but not anymore making writing new training materials much harder.

Trainual Review

Trainual has been quite frustrating and difficult to use overall. Many members of the firm have spent countless hours working on setting up our page, but have run into issues daily trying to accomplish our goals. Upon launch day, we had so many issues trying to get this out to our members. Cons: Formatting is difficult to use. For example, users are not able to edit their own typefaces or sizes of text, which is necessary when trying to organize things effectively. Also, when copy and pasting text, the format totally changes and does not resemble what was copied.

Good tool for a small business

It is an adequate product that gets the job done, but it is likely not as robust of a tool that would be required for a larger organization. Cons: The renewal process is often difficult, and the user interface isn't always as intuitive as I think it should be.

Current User

Trainual is an evolving platform, meaning that they are always making improvements with each update. I can't think of a time where they rolled a new feature out that was lackluster or unhelpful. Cons: I don't like how difficult it is to reset group progress on specific Topics, as well as some of the individual date tracking is lacking.

Needs Knowledge Base Work

It is a love-hate relationship. We love being able to track everyone's progress but hate that it is so difficult to reference material later on. Cons: Trying to find and reference past Trainuals. Once a Trainual is complete is it very difficult to find and reference back to it unless you remember to favorite it before you complete the Trainual initially. If they could figure this out then their product would be much better.

iOS issues

Multiple employees on my team have iPhones and cannot hit the mark complete button on any of the trainuals we have set up. We started with Trainual a few months back to set it up to make our onboarding more efficient, but if my staff can’t use their phones to finish the work we will have to seek out a different platform.. I have deleted the app and redownloaded to see if that helped the problem and I did not. This is such a great idea, but the execution doesn’t deliver..

Difficult to Use

My time with trainual was a waste of money and time and never quite got usage from it. Almost $1k later, I ended up cancelling the subscription and have ZERO to show for it. Cons: The set up process, even with already having the documentation is burdensome and the flow of how to use the software is confusing. There is no real start and finish or defined, or even suggested, workflow.

Image links don’t work. Can’t edit Trainuals.

Had to edit several trainuals because if you make images clickable, they don’t work on mobile.Also, I work remotely, and walking while working on trainual is a great way to switch things up. However, you can’t edit anything via mobile, so I have to note down changes I want to make and make them when I get home after my walk.

Not great system

It was promising from the sales team, but the system is not great. Some of the features are useful, I am unsure if this system can be used in any company. Cons: - If you want to disengage out of Trainual, there is NO WAY to download or move data -There isn't a way to download in bulk

Used to be a good product but…

Used to be a good product but then they decided to redo the UI. THe product lacks basic leanring plans to guide a user. The system is a mess of 5 concepts that are confusing and hard to navigate. The new UI is very confusing and hard to use for users. They try to do a search for topics but are unable to find a topic that matches OR they find topics they don't have access to.

Unable to use Cannot actually find a way to sign in with Microsoft on the mobile app. Since this was the authentication method I used on desktop, I'm unable to use the app.
